I used to be that person who over-reacted to just about everything. . . I blew tiny things out of proportion and very quickly spiralled into a mindset of negativity that would not only affect my day but the day of those who had the misfortune of being around me...🤦 . . It wasn't pleasant. And I didn't want to feel the way I did. But it wasn't until I started learning about the power of our mindset and the huge role it plays on the life we lead - that I started to be more mindful of my thoughts and reactions. Because that's all they are. Thoughts we control in a big wide world full of events and situations we cannot control. . . It takes more energy to be negative and at the end of the day nothing but more of the same will come from it. Negativity is a choice. As human beings we decide how we react to situations that pop up in our lives. It's on us. Yet so many (myself included on occasions), choose the victim card over accepting responsibility for our emotions. . . So when we start ruminating on the things we don't want and the things that piss us off - we're more likely to stay in that space and taint the the truely beautiful things in our life with the same brush. . . I for one don't want to, and nor do I choose to live, in that self-limiting mindset for the rest of my life. . . Yes shit happens. Yes nothing is perfect. But the moment I began to watch my thoughts, practice gratitude for the abundant life I do have, and devour books/teachings on the power of positive thinking - my life, my relationships, and my business changed for the better. . . The power of positive thinking will literally change your life. But only if you want to change.
